Streetbrew users may get special discounts, or have access to guided tours on First Fridays. All in your handheld device. Coming in March! Come to MAM’s First Friday opening reception for exhibiting artist Marilyn Lysohir 5-8PM. Join Lysohir at 7 pm as she travels through her exhibition Good Girls 1968 and talks about this installation which contains over 160 ceramic portraits of young women with whom Lysohir graduated from high school. Jonathan Marquis and the Ceretana Gallery present the opening of Pointing at the Moon, an exhibition of new artworks by Jonathan Marquis on March 5th and April 2nd 2010. Pointing at the moon is an exhibition of large-scale paintings (PNTGs) and installation exploring relationships between religious figures, comic book characters, and Marquis’ aesthetic language. These elements in combination engage the viewer in a visually and conceptually charged space that diminishes the dualistic separation between art and audience.

With great pleasure, The Brink Gallery announces its grand opening in downtown Missoula, Montana. Envisioned and founded by local artist and art enthusiast, Jennifer Leutzinger, the gallery will feature fresh and deliberate work of emerging and established local, regional and national artists working in the realm of contemporary art. Blending innovation with tradition, exhibits will vary to include work that is experimental and conceptual in nature, visually and intellectually stimulating, playful and sophisticated. Its inaugural exhibition, bearing, with work by Kerri Rosenste includes seven sets of bearings drawings: caldera cabin, caldera studio, moiese cabin, butler creek cabin, wolf treet, rock cove, and brink. The University of Montana Lambda Alliance will be partnering with the Western Montana Community Center during the month of March to host Fine Art Missoula, an art exhibit and sale that focuses on the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. Current artists include Irit Rabinowits, Bree Sutherland, Geneva Kelly, Ali Pelletier, among others. Wine and organic hors d'ouerves will be provided by the Fine Art Missoula Project and local Missoula businesses like Ten Spoon Winery. Bernice's Bakery

Danny Crump, current wood fire artist-in-residence at the Clay Studio of Missoula, presents “Specific Gravity” at Bernice’s Bakery. The new wood fired wall sculptures are displayed with the intention of forming a visual and visceral connection to the viewers. First Friday opening 5:30-8:00

Kenton Pies grew up in the Wisconsin hills where he absorbed the colorful country atmosphere, and the sights, sounds and animals of the forest. When still a teenager as a local artist Kenton started his sign and art painting business by creating scenes on walls and vehicles. This eventually led to creating carvings, paintings, and graphics for restaurants, offices and developments. Kenton has made art for public and private collections & garnering awards in art, sculpture, graphics, stone masonry and quilting.These wide experiences are now expressed in nature painting and sculpture. Come see Kenton at the Holiday Inn Downtown Missoula at Brooks and Browns Friday March 5th at 5:30 and enjoy live music by Holden Young from 5 to 8. Micro pitchers are $7 and martinis are $4.

Featuring local artists monthly at our downtown location on the corner of Front and Orange, across the street from KECI. The address is 345 West Front, Suite D. The first artist is Jesca Cornman. The second artist featured is Monica Campbell, who paints under the monicker Mono. You can check out Jesca's art on her facebook page at Ladygirl MSCornman. This is a great opportunity to meet these great local artists and also to meet the staff of ZMNC, a medical cannabis caregiving organization. Also on site will be Angela Goodhope, who will be giving a presentation and answering questions about Medical Marijuna in Montana.

No Shame Theatre is a venue for writers and performers to present their work before an audience. This is open to all areas of performance: playwriting, dance, music, comedy, poetry…No rehearsals are necessary. Just show up and sign up. There are 15, 5 minute slots available first-come-first-serve. The rules: all work must be original, 5 minutes or less, you can’t break yourself, the audience, the theatre or the law!
