Brunswick Artists’ Holiday Open House 2009
The Brunswick Artists’ Studio is having its annual Holiday Open House December 3rd, 4th and 5th. Artists are exhibiting a wide variety of media - photography, oil on canvas, encaustics, ceramics and charcoal. Participating artists include Andy Brown, Mamie Colburn, Jennifer Leutzinger, Leslie V. S. Millar, Dale Sherrard, Scott Sutton and Janet Whaley. The Brunswick is celebrating it’s 30th year providing affordable working spaces for Missoula artists, writers and composers.
Opening night is Thursday the 3rd from 5 – 8 PM. Continuing December 4th, 5 – 8 PM and Saturday December 5th 11 AM – 4 PM. The Brunswick is located at 223 W. Railroad Street in Missoula.
Dale Sherrard will be showing short films Friday the 4th at 8 PM.

Come enjoy Reverse Glass Paintings, Created by Nancy Rishoff. “This process involves painting on glass, (using acrylic paint) foreground to background and then flipping it over to see the finished process. This is new for me as I have been painting on canvas and paper for the last thirteen years. I ran across this process purely by accident, and found it to be fascinating. I have been painting this way for the last 6 months and have fallen in love with the effect, with happy accidents along the way. I am an Art student at The University of Montana and not afraid to try new art practices in my adventures in

“Wood Cuts” is a collection of photographic collages by Elizabeth Stone. Elizabeth cuts up her original photographs and test prints, many of the natural world, to create new layered landscapes for this exhibit. Elizabeth's collages often incorporate tree silhouettes, utilizing the deep-rooted symbolism of trees as common metaphors for longevity, creativity and growth. Elizabeth is a fine art photographer and also teaches for the Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula. She makes her home in the country in Greenough, MT.
