Experience the ancient villages, cafes, and landscapes of Provence, the Dordogne and Burgundy with an exhibition of new paintings from Monte Dolack and Mary Beth Percival's recent October travels in France. Rocky Mountain School of Photography

Rocky Mountain School of Photography Gallery is excited to announce its inaugural exhibition grow. with work by Eileen Rafferty. Fusing archival imagery and traditional techniques with modern technology and contemporary visual culture, Rafferty’s work seems to exist in a time outside of time – like standing still in a moment one remembers that hasn’t quite happened. The exhibition opened April 1 runs through May 29.

On May 1, let the exotic music of the Manik Harum Gamelan* performances transport you to far off places, 6-7 PM. At 7 PM, MAM Exhibitions Curator Steve Glueckert will talk about the playful, mixed media work of M.A. Papanek-Miller’s exhibition A Snowman Cares for Our Memory of Water. MAM will also celebrate Blackfeet artist Darrell Norman's newly installed sculpture Guardian Spirits, on view on the north lawn of MAM.
*A gamelan Is a percussion orchestra consisting of 24 gongs and metalophones plus drum and bamboo flute.

Murphy~Jubb Fine, in conjunction with St. Patrick Hospital and Health Foundation and The Montana Cancer Center, presents the unveiling of "Renewal", a new bronze by Arthur Norby. A reception with hospital staff and the Norby's will be held on Friday May 1 from 5-8. A portion of the proceeds from sales will go the Breast Cancer Compassion Fund of St. Patrick Hospital Foundation. New work by Kendahl Jan Jubb will exhibited as well.

The Dana Gallery extends an invitation to our May exhibition, “Celebration of Missoula Artists” Show. Unique clothing made in the Missoula area will be on display during May at the Artists Shop. This is the second annual garment show and will feature designs by a dozen or more clothing makers. A reception for artists will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1. The crafts gallery at 304 N. Higgins is open from 10 to 6 Monday through Saturday.

New pencil studies by Stephanie Frostad, Photographs by Christofer Autio, oil stick paintings from the “Bear Series” by Nancy Erickson, prints by Kendahl Jan Jubb and watercolors by Don Mundt. A First Friday opening is on May 1 from 5 to 9 pm and special gallery hours from 9 to 3 pm on Saturday May 2.

Celebrate the 32nd IWFF Poster Art Contest Winners and the Kids Wildlife Artwork Club (KWAC)! This special First Friday art celebration is another way to “Meet me in Missoula!” and is for families, visitors of all ages, and Gallery Walk enthusiasts to see the art submissions of dozens of area classrooms for the Kids Wildilfe Artwork Club (KWAC art will be displayed in Missoula businesses the week of May 9-16, 2009). First Friday pop and popcorn will be served from 5-7 at the Roxy! Sven Lindauer, winner of the 32nd IWFF Poster Art Contest will be signing IWFF Commemorative Posters as well as original art viewing by other winners Jennifer Bardsley and Donna Love.
